DJ RON - A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
Starting off his live career in University College Dublin in 1993, Ron quickly established
an outstanding reputation for himself as both an exceptional techno DJ, and also as a cutting
edge music producer on Dublin's burgeoning underground scene.
Quickly building up a large and loyal following through his showmanship and his trademark funk style,
Ron has played with numerous other luminaries of the dance scene including; Felix Da Housecat,
Slam, Billy Nasty, Funk D'Void, Dave Clarke and Richie Hawtin.
Ron went to on play to sell out crowds at some of the most of the prestigious clubs in Dublin;
UFO, Temple Bar Music Center, The Tivoli, The Kitchen, The Shelter, The Ambassador and Traffic.
A regular on the airwaves, from pirate to national radio (2FM, Power FM etc.), he has also
featured prominently at festivals like Creamfields and D.E.A.F. Ron was the closing act at the
massive Witness Festival, which then landed him a long residency in the Red Box - the most
prestigious club in Dublin.
When not having an exhaustive live schedule, Ron returns to the studio. In 2001, he established
the 'One Louder' label - a label renowned for producing loopy techno with a solid built-in funk style.
Limited edition 12" vinyl releases include Pilabarcor, Subconscious Threat and also on Nice and Nasty label,
Ceol Don Todhchai.
CD compilations include Musiklab, BBM (cover CD), and Clubbing.com.
Now based in Barcelona from the beginning of 2004, his celebrated sessions at the Zentraus club
have identified and launched the venue as the creative epicenter of outstanding electronic music.
Outside his residency in Zentraus, Ron regularly plays in clubs around Catalunya, including Zentrik club,
Terrassa, El Rachdingue, in Figueras with has appearances on radio and TV. He also Dj'd at the Radio
Nacional Espanya tent at Sonar in 2004.
For this year the forever restless Ron will be appearing at Club Wai-Kiki, Lledia,
Spain on August 26th, playing along side Tresor, DJ/Producer Dave Tarrida. Also planned this
summer are tour dates in Ministry Of Fun (Bratislava, Slovakia), Ireland.
Watch out this Dubliner, although much has been said, he has much more to say on the international scene.
