Shit! Summer is over now and we are starting to have long cold dark nights... Last nights' Haloween Party was so-so, I missed the
some best ones from the reports I got... but all the same there was some good new music to enjoy... and the good news, as promised months ago, the deep

Not many gigs recently, but there was a fun moment in Ibiza, no seriously!, Djing at a house party there with friends, but since
we were in the mood of keeping going, when we got to the airport and there was a 2 hour wait for the plane, we decided
to carry on, and DJ at the airport waiting lounge - battery powered! Not sure if it is a regular occurance in the airport, but
considering it's fame it isn't all that out of place. So there are photos just to prove it, ha ha.
And still in the mood while on the airplane, not to be out done by David Guetta (see YouTube), I continued...

Damn hot I tell ya. 30+ degrees even at night. Last Saturday night, and what followed was a total blast! A great atmosphere
was generated by all that came to the Glass Bar. Mostly friends and friends of friends (Marc, Monne and all their mates). As the place is not so big it is easy to fill up.
After DJing at the Glass Bar, we went to Kubik, club at the Forum (open until 6am),
and to an open air party near the power station in Badalona promoted by Silens guys was great.
Seeing the sunrise over the beach over the beach and palm trees, and for a techno party, also had a good mix of nice women and not all blokes, which
is nice for a change.
Anyway, some of Saturday night was recorded and I have uploaded a 40 minute clip
here. [Right click to download] It is not perfect quality but it is still listenable. Style-wise it is bouncy electro-house and techno. Definitely
not for the deep-house soldiers. This isn't the mix I promised, that is still work in progress.

Hot Summer Madness, but not if you live in either Ireland or England, where is has been raining for
more than 55 consequitive days. Move to Spain I say. Because it's GRRRREAT! Hot, 29 degrees today and blue skies. What more do you want? Good music?

A few months later and well quite a few things have changes, the biggest being Zentraus. No more DJs allowed
say the police. Booo! The place is still open but no DJs allowed. It's the new letter of the law here
and it applies to all centrally located bar / restaurants as of last year. So onwards to new locations...
I was DJing at a roof top party last weekend and (almost*) everybody loved the music I was playing and wanted
to see my DJ else where (get everybody's email quick). Some guy came up and said: "You sound like a professional DJ".. I said: "No way, really?".
Others were asking the owner of the place how much did I cost him (always a good question) ... and another said: "I have never heard a
DJ that played all the music I love, thank you, thank you". Another asked several times for "Dancing Queen, Abba".
I though he was joking, but no, he kept asking for it.
* There is always someone asking for rock or some other style I don't play.
Other recent events include: A surprise party in Dublin (although it wasn't a
surpries in the end when too many people talked about it - me included, doh!) in May, and a most
amazing Poney Phonk party last April in Vilanova - I should have posted about it earlier. Meanwhile... finally more event dates:

With another new mix uploaded onto the site
here (To download, right-click the link and save it). I've been preparing for tomorrow night's gig in the Vaults, Dublin. Also
playing on the night are C.J. Bolland, Marco Bailey, and Desy Balmer (Nice and Nasty Records).
The Vaults is located under Connelly Station, yep, on the 'wrong side of town', as someone said to me last night. I won't
be in Zentraus on Saturday unfortunately, as I will be locked with friends somewhere in the big smoke (what country people used to
call Dublin a long time ago), but back again the following week of course.

Zentraus is backin the house! After 7 months of no music we are back in the house, although
it's not quite the same as it used to be. Due to the authorities insisting that
it had to be a restaurant, it now servers good (and quite exquisite) Italian food, cocktails, and
the usual drinks etc... From about midnight the music gets louder, the lights dimmer, tables are
moved, space cleared, and a gradual transformation from restaurnat to music bar occurrs. By
2 am at the latest, the transformation is normally complete. Hopefully it will recover some
of the lost ground of the last 7 months. Saturday, January 8th was a good starting night, and
tonight looks to be a corker too due to several groups of friends (muchos locos) going to be
there. Probably going to Razzmatazz after to see Agoria. Also in the same area, there are
generally really good illegal parties on like on Pere IV, or Pujades. Last week was class in
a new place near No. 48 Pere IV. 5 euro on the door. It's always worth asking about what's going on in
Barcelona, you just never know.
Meanwhile, another visit to the stormy shores of Ireland is on the way. March 9th with Nice & Nasty Records. More
details to follow.

Radio interview and new mix will be aired on Montcada Radio on the program Dotze Polzades (12" in Catalan),
a weekly music program on Tuesday nights from 11pm til midnight. I have recorded a mix that is more or
less the same as what I did for the Fresh night in Bratislava as that set was not recorded. The program can
be downloaded from the site here. I will upload the
new set shortly...

Summer sun and beach parties! Excellent. I've made it my Sunday evening / night thing to go down
to the beach to the last cheringito. Playing last night were Funk D'Void and Jay
Aquabassino. From about 7pm until 1am, it's the best thing you can do on Sundays in Barcelona.
And it's free. Bring your own drinks and a cooler if you can. There's always some Pakistani's seling
cans of beer at 1.50 euro each, sometimes they charge 2 - the chancers.
On the gigs front life is quiet, so no better time than to put the head down and make new music.
So expect new choons in the coming months.

My arm is improving finally and the bone fragements are sticking back together
(got an x-ray done today), and so the gigs go on. Last weekend in Mallorca was
tops. A lot of fun and really nice people in Mallorca (Portocristo). Photos on the way...
One of the funnies nights I've had this year was on the 22nd of April in Zentraus. The audience just didn't
want to leave. I was DJing (with CDs) with only one arm, and occasionally my chin.
They loved it, all the more for only having one arm. One to remember.
Next up is Zentraus once again on Saturday, followed by a beach party in Sitges.
Wooo hoo! It is being held to celebrate the collective birthdays of a few friends -
good excuse eh?

TEMPORARILY OUT OF ACTION!
A recend trip to Austria ended in tears (metaphorically). Thanks to Geoff and mates
at Highways, Kitzbuhel. Good fun venue and nice people. But on the last day,
while messing around on a snowboard, I broke my shoulder: I'm in bits (literally).
Friday 21st April: Special guests Eyewobble DJ team from SaarbrŸcken are in BCN
for a night in Zentraus. The duo consists of Patrick Dempsey from Ireland and
Enrique from Germany (even though he has a Spanish name). See their

The 21st of January in Zentraus was the busiest yet... more than 500
passed through the doors with queues waiting outside, some shouting and
offering money to get in (it is always free in no matter what's on) ... chaos.

Life is good. We had an absolute amazing night in Zentraus to finish up the year - an
unusually extended night until almost 7am and then off to another locaton... messy. New dates
for 2006 so far:
Saturday 7th Jan: Zentraus Bar.
Saturday 21st Jan: Zentraus Bar.
Notice the slight name change. Well it is oficially a bar so the name of the establishment
must reflect that - so says the local authorities. So be it. Over all is it business as
usual from before like in October etc. Excelent.

Zentraus continues with music and Djs nightly, although at a slightly lower volume then before. I'll be
there again on Friday for my last gig before Christmas. There was a nice atmosphere there
last Saturday night, so it looks like it is not the disaster we thought it might be.

Oh noooo! Something has happened and it's not good! Zentraus has to stop having DJs and stop being a club.
The local govenment has dicided that a bar cannot have Djs playing in it, or a dance
floor etc. So it all has to stop. Blues!
But mean while there are other things going on.
Saturday 5th Nov. www.electricity-festival.de in Saarbrucken,
south-west Germany, near the French border. This is a 3 day electronic music festival run in 11 venues
around the city. Expect the very best in atmosphere as crowds gather from all over Germany and France for
this stormer of an event.
Friday-Saturday 11th-12th Nov. Manchester / Leeds. The opening of Apple store Manchester and the club Technique in Leeds.
I still don't have a clear plan just yet, but that's only part of the itinery. It'll be an insane
weekender for sure that will probably cause serious health damage (see blog), but I am
willing to take the risk.
Saturday 19th Nov. Zentraus Club. This looks like it is cancelled as explained above.
Saturday 26th Nov. Zentraus Club. Ditto.
Let's hope December will improve matters here.

We've just had 2 cracker weekends in Zentraus thanks to special guests Joachim (
Sound Architecture,
Rotterdam) and Moh (Soulful Studios, Saarbrucken).
This weekend I have the pleasant opportunity of playing Zentraus all on my own from start to finish. In the coming months
a few different locations around Europe. I'll keep
you all posted now that I finally got out from Network Solutions and renewed the domain registration with
Fabel Hosting.

Now with September almost over, there's one final blast to finish the month and on to the next.
The One Louder Party is happening in Olot, near Girona on the 30th of September to the 2nd of
October. It's a spectacular place in the hills beside the French border. A lot of people are
flying in especially for this weekender so I am honoured to hove the following Djs playing: Seb
Bassler, Andre Okada, playing experimental. Kanika - minimal house, Steffen K, Xavi Rumi - hard
techno, Nigel H - tech-house, Andrea (Parma, Italy) - electro, Elec Funk, DJ Ron - tech-house /
techno (still more to be confirmed). Accomodation and food included. The facilities are excellent
- with a swimming pool and games room, plus a self-service restuarant.
Dates in Zentraus for
October: 8th with Jochim - Sound Architecture, Rotterdam. 22nd. - just me all night long.

night opening club in the valleys outside Barcelona. It have a large open room at the back that
works well enough, with a large stage and video screen etc...
Friday 16th Sept. Ciclik
Sabadell. This is in the famed Zona Hermetica, where some 50 clubs are located! This place rocks
though! 1,200 capacity venue that usually fills comfortably with lovers of techno. Can't wait!
Saturday 17th. Sept. Zentraus club.
Fortnightly residency. Always loads of fun. I love it!

Who knows what this is going to be like! Pete Loop, the resident DJ on Fridays, told me that it is
mainly a commercial club, with some house and techno choons thrown in so I'll have to compromise a bit.
Hmmmm, I don't much like the idea, burrr anyway... It's a large club with a spectacular sound
system, and most of the locals (see the pics!
) are nice happy-go-lucky types! Ha ha. Well, kinda.
Friday, 26th
Wai-kiki, Lledia (1 and bit hours from Barcelona, depending on the road you take..), Spain
This is a huge club (cap. 5000) in the middle of the country - 3 dance floors and a massive swimming pool! Nice! It generally attracts
an audience in the 16-20 age group. A bit young but well so what. I am organizing a bus to bring a group of friends from Barcelona,
a lot more fun that way.

This is a gig being organized by some friends in Ireland to help me out
after I was robbed in Barcelona several weeks ago - someone ran away with
my record bag as I was opening a door. It contained all my best records and
my new powerbook with all my new music productions on it. And of course cables,
connectors, head phones etc. Depressing. But anyway, there is a light
ahead. When you hit a low point, and your best friends show you who they
are, it makes you smile.
